You might be wondering--how is coaching different from counseling?
Counseling (also referred to as therapy) includes diagnosing a psychological disorder and helping clients process history, manage symptoms and address unproductive thinking and behavioral patterns. Counselors provide education, ask questions and utilize insights to resolve interpersonal and intrapersonal challenges.
Life Coaching involves helping clients who are feeling stuck reach goals to help them become unstuck. Life Coaching is present and future-oriented and does not explore a client's past, except to pin-point and modify old patterns that are no longer serving them.
